Charles Barry Norris, a 39-year-old white male, was found dead on December 20, 1995, in his home in Thomson, Georgia. The cause of death was a single gunshot wound to the back of his head, which was determined to be a contact wound, indicating that the gun was pressed against his head when it was fired. His body was discovered slumped on the living room couch, where he had been watching television.
