On a grim Saturday afternoon, what should have been a routine shopping trip turned into a scene of violence and tragedy, ending the life of 19-year-old Scott Anthony Foor Jr. The young man was fatally shot on August 2, 2025, following a dispute that began inside a Family Dollar store on Michigan Road in Indianapolis.
The altercation, which involved multiple people, spilled outside to the front entrance of the store where shots were fired.
Officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to reports of a person shot around 5:30 p.m. and found Foor suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene. At the time of the incident, the store was open and had other customers inside, including children.
Authorities with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department have indicated that they believe the shooting was an isolated incident and that the individuals involved knew each other. While the investigation is ongoing, police have not yet publicly identified any suspects, and no arrests have been announced in connection with the shooting.
