On December 9, 2023, at approximately 4:00 a.m., Rodney Hamilton, aged 52, was fatally shot near the 2200 block of Camp Greene Street in Charlotte, North Carolina. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) were in the vicinity when they heard gunshots and promptly discovered Hamilton with apparent gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
