Death by Force

On February 1, 2024, at approximately 1:15 a.m., 17-year-old Melakah Ajani Corbette was fatally shot on Pitts Drive near L.C. Coleman Park in Charlotte, North Carolina. Officers from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Corbette with multiple gunshot wounds; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
