In the early afternoon of Monday, June 9, 2025, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a Northeast Washington, D.C. neighborhood, leaving one man dead and three others wounded. The fatal victim was identified as 31-year-old Breon Quick, a resident of Northeast, D.C. The shooting took place at approximately 12:10 p.m. in the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, NE.
When Fifth District officers arrived at the scene, they discovered three men, including Quick, suffering from gunshot wounds.
D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services personnel transported the victims to a local hospital. Despite all life-saving efforts, Breon Quick succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The two other men were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. A fourth victim, an adult female who had also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound, independently arrived at an area hospital for treatment.
The Metropolitan Police Department is actively investigating the incident as a homicide and has appealed to the public for assistance in gathering information. As of now, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a possible motive for the shooting. No arrests have been announced in connection with the case. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered by the police department for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for Quick's death.
