On October 11, 2019, Jonathan Jones, a 30-year-old resident of Cheltenham, Maryland, was fatally shot in the 1900 block of 16th Street, Southeast, Washington, DC. The incident occurred at approximately 3:26 PM, when members of the Seventh District responded to a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Jones suffering from a gunshot wound.
