On March 17, 2024, a mass shooting occurred in the Northwest part of Washington, D.C., resulting in the death of 32-year-old Jay Lucks, along with another victim, 32-year-old Anthony Brown.

The incident took place around 3:01 a.m. at the intersection of 7th and P Streets Northwest.
