On November 1, 2020, at approximately 1:00 am, 16-year-old Kareem Palmer was shot and killed in the 1300 block of Mapleview Place, Southeast, Washington, DC. Officers from the Seventh District responded to the scene following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they found Palmer suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite the efforts of DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services, who transported him to a local hospital, Palmer was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
