In the evening hours of Sunday, November 18, 2018, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet of a residential street in Northwest Washington, D.C. When the sounds of the shots faded, a young man lay critically wounded. Police responded to the 800 block of Jefferson Street, NW, in the Brightwood Park neighborhood shortly before 6:30 p.m. to find 26-year-old Dwight Banks suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
