On January 14, 2018, 14-year-old Steven Slaughter was tragically killed in Washington, D.C. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when Steven and his two teenage friends were leaving a 7-Eleven on Good Hope Road SE after getting slurpees. As they exited the store, they were followed by a stolen Mercedes driven by 25-year-old Anthony Deandre Allen. Allen, along with two accomplices, was searching for people to rob and was armed with a handgun.
