In the late hours of a Saturday, the Eckington neighborhood of Northeast Washington, D.C. was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On July 5, 2025, just after 11:00 p.m., 23-year-old Zarie Williams, a resident of Northwest, D.C., was fatally shot in the 100 block of T Street, Northeast.
