James Saxe, 56, male, was shot on the night of May 29, 2025, in Wilmington’s West Center City neighborhood and later died at the hospital. Police were called around 11 p.m. to the 800 block of West 7th Street, where officers found Saxe suffering from gunshot wounds; he was transported in critical condition and did not survive. A second victim, a 19-year-old man, was also struck by gunfire and arrived at a hospital in stable condition.
