Mateo Renato Banegas, 18, a Hispanic male, was shot multiple times on the afternoon of July 22, 2025, near the intersection of Wilton Boulevard and Stonebridge Boulevard in the Wilton community of New Castle, Delaware. Officers with the New Castle County Division of Police responded around 3:58 p.m., found him wounded, and performed life-saving measures before he was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
