In a tragic incident on the afternoon of May 24, 2025, 27-year-old Michael Tusa, a male, was fatally shot in north Phoenix. The shooting occurred around 3:23 p.m. in the area of 22nd Avenue and Thunderbird Road. First responders discovered Tusa under the Thunderbird Road underpass with at least one gunshot wound.
Another adult male was also found at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound.
While Tusa was pronounced deceased, the second victim was transported to a local hospital in critical condition with life-threatening injuries. Homicide detectives were called to the scene to take over the investigation into the double shooting.
According to Phoenix police, the suspects involved in the shooting fled the area before law enforcement arrived. Investigators are actively searching for multiple suspects. At this time, no arrests have been announced in connection with the homicide. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to seek information from the public to help identify and locate those responsible for Michael Tusa's death.
