On August 30, 2014, Briana Brooks, a 21-year-old African American woman who was seven months pregnant, was abducted alongside her fiancé, 23-year-old Jeronta Brown, in Decatur, Georgia. The couple had just returned to a relative’s home with their 8-month-old daughter and Jeronta’s teenage sister when they were confronted by masked men.
