Sonia Williams, a 21-year-old African American woman, was tragically killed on May 19, 2014, in Decatur, Georgia. Her death was a result of a violent incident orchestrated by Malcolm Jamal Brown, a 30-year-old suspected member of the Bloods gang. According to reports, Brown ordered the murder of Sonia Williams and another woman, Shaniqua Camacho, after Williams allegedly turned down his romantic advances and "disrespected" him. The two women were out socializing when they were targeted.
