Shanntrell Bell, 22, a Black woman, spent the late hours of July 1 into the early morning of July 2, 2025 with friends near Decatur, Georgia, when a fight in the parking lot of an auto parts store on Columbia Drive erupted into gunfire. Her friends rushed her to a hospital around 1:40 a.m., but she did not survive. Investigators traced the scene to the lot outside the business in the 1200 block and began piecing together what had unfolded amid the confrontation.
