Dorothy Keeler, a 59-year-old white female from Rochester, New York, was one of the victims of convicted serial killer Arthur Shawcross, also known as the Genesee River Killer. Her remains were discovered in October 1989 on Seth Green Island in the Genesee River gorge by two teenagers. The body was headless and initially unidentified. It wasn’t until January 1990, following Shawcross’s arrest, that he confessed to killing Dorothy Keeler and identified the remains as hers.
