Patricia Ann Lange, a 36-year-old White female, had recently embarked on a new chapter in her life, moving from Denver, Colorado, to West Des Moines, Iowa, for a promising job as a database administrator. She was temporarily residing at the University Park Holiday Inn, staying in Room 732 since her arrival on August 13, 1993, while she searched for a permanent home.
