Gertrude Gardner, a 77-year-old woman, was found deceased in her South Richmond home on February 2, 1996. Her death was part of a disturbing pattern of homicides targeting elderly women in the area, later referred to as the "Golden Years Murders." Gardner was among thirteen confirmed victims in a series of killings that spanned from 1990 to 1996.
