Brenda Jean Pruitt, a 27-year-old African American woman, was last seen on May 4, 1990, in St. Louis, Missouri. She was reported missing by her family on May 9, 1990. On October 4, 1990, her decomposed body was discovered inside a 32-gallon trash can near 12400 Basston Drive in Maryland Heights, Missouri. The body was found by city workers who were clearing weeds and trash in the area.
