On February 24, 2025, 49-year-old Sean Joseph Avary was fatally shot in far west Bexar County, Texas. Deputies from the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Picardy Wheel around 6:41 p.m. Upon arrival, they encountered the suspect, 62-year-old Brian Ray Leigh, who admitted to shooting Avary during an altercation. Avary sustained a gunshot wound to the chest and was pronounced dead at 7:27 p.m.
