Albert Devontae Roy, 29, a Black male, was shot and killed just after sunrise on June 4, 2025, outside a residence on the 6500 block of Ashby Point in the San Antonio–area suburb of Live Oak. Officers called to reports of multiple gunshots around 7:30 a.m. found Roy fatally wounded near the home. Police said early evidence suggested the attack was targeted rather than random, and the Texas Rangers were brought in to assist Live Oak detectives as they canvassed the neighborhood for surveillance
