On November 19, 2017, 44-year-old Albert Epperson was shot and killed on a porch in the Northside area of Jacksonville, Florida. His 16-year-old stepdaughter was also critically injured but survived the attack. The shooting followed a domestic-related verbal altercation. Months later, in May 2018, Jacksonville police arrested Toby Stafford, 41, in connection with the homicide, charging him with murder and attempted murder.
Despite Stafford's denial of involvement, the case has moved forward in the judicial system.
