On February 27, 2025, 43-year-old African American man Tarron Sean Allen was fatally shot in Fort Worth, Texas. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 2200 block of East Lancaster Avenue. Responding officers found Mr. Allen with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as Tarron Sean Allen.
According to the Fort Worth Police Department, the shooting followed a verbal altercation between Mr. Allen and another individual. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived.
Subsequent investigations led to the identification of 53-year-old Sheldon Johnson as the suspect. On March 2, 2025, Fort Worth police arrested Mr. Johnson at his residence in Haltom City without incident. He was charged with murder and booked into the Tarrant County Jail, with bond set at $300,000.
A memorial service for Mr. Allen was held on March 22, 2025, at the Tree of Life Funeral Directors in Fort Worth. The case remains under investigation as authorities continue to gather information.
