In the fading light of a late winter afternoon, the story of Natoria Goines, a 19-year-old female, came to a tragic and abrupt end. On Tuesday, February 28, 2017, her body was discovered behind an abandoned church in the 3900 block of Delaware Street in Gary, Indiana. She had sustained a fatal gunshot wound, and her death was swiftly ruled a homicide by the Lake County coroner's office.
