On the evening of May 27, 2002, 25-year-old Tomorra 'Precious' Taylor, an African American woman, spent her final hours visiting with friends and family in Gary, Indiana. Alongside her cousin, she made several phone calls throughout the day to a man named Ronnie Drane, with whom she had made plans to meet later that night.
