On January 9, 2025, a tragic shooting occurred on Hillcrest Avenue in Lynchburg, Virginia, claiming the life of 16-year-old male Kharrelle Nyiem Allen. The incident took place just before 4 p.m., when Allen was struck by gunfire while inside a vehicle coming from the Dearington Apartments.
