In the early morning hours of February 4, 2025, the life of 22-year-old Nathaniel Mangram was tragically cut short on a street in Richmond, Virginia. A Black male, Mangram was discovered unresponsive in the front yard of a residence in the 1300 block of Coalter Street. Richmond Police officers responded to a call of a person shot at approximately 1:52 a.m. and found Mangram with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the homicide led by Major Crimes Detective M. Godwin progressed over the following weeks. On March 14, an indictment was served, bringing a significant development to the case. Orlando Logan, a 24-year-old resident of Richmond, was arrested in connection with Mangram's death.
Logan faces a series of serious charges, including murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, discharging a firearm in a public place, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The police have asked for anyone with further information about the homicide to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
