Terrance Eugene Butler, a 38-year-old Black man, was with a small group near the 700 block of Adams Avenue, just off Washington Avenue and H Street, on the night of November 20, 2015. Around 8:40 p.m., a verbal dispute escalated into a fight between Butler and another man. Officers and medics arrived to find Butler on the ground; he was taken to University Medical Center, where he died of a stab wound to the chest.
