In a quiet Las Vegas neighborhood, the lives of two teenage brothers were tragically cut short on a summer evening. On June 20, 2022, 16-year-old Jesse Galindo, a Hispanic male, and his 18-year-old brother, Isaiah, were shot and killed. The incident unfolded inside a home on Glowing Ember Court, where they had been invited by an acquaintance to smoke marijuana.
Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered a grim scene. Isaiah's body was found in the front yard, while Jesse was found deceased inside the home. Both brothers had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Among the individuals present at the scene was 24-year-old Edward Gonzalez. During questioning by police, Gonzalez reportedly claimed he "killed the other two guys." According to the arrest report, Gonzalez stated that he had invited the Galindo brothers to the residence. He claimed that at some point, he noticed a gun in Isaiah's pocket and feared he was about to be robbed.
Gonzalez alleged that he then grabbed the gun and shot Isaiah multiple times as he tried to flee the house. He then followed Isaiah outside and shot him again while he was on the ground. A witness who was in a bedroom at the time told police he heard the initial gunfire. Jesse Galindo then entered the bedroom, and the witness stated he fired at Jesse until he fell. The police report indicates that Gonzalez then went back inside, entered the bedroom, and fired additional shots at Jesse. During the altercation, Gonzalez also accidentally shot the witness in the shoulder.
Edward Gonzalez was arrested and charged with two counts of open murder, as well as illegally owning a gun and child abuse/neglect. He was taken into custody at his home without incident.
