On the evening of April 18, 2016, 34-year-old Thomas Alexander Blas, a Hispanic male, was fatally shot at the Solis at Flamingo apartment complex located at 3223 East Flamingo Road in Las Vegas, Nevada. Responding to reports of a man 'screaming for help' around 8:16 p.m., officers from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department discovered Blas lying in the doorway of an apartment, suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.
Witnesses reported seeing four to five males, estimated to be between 18 and 20 years old, fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting. Investigators believe that the incident may have stemmed from a failed drug deal. At the time, no arrests had been made, and the suspects remained unidentified.
