In the spring of 2025, the life of 18-year-old Javlin Everette De'Angelo Dawkins was tragically cut short in Gaffney, South Carolina. On the night of Saturday, March 29th, gunshots echoed through the parking lot of the Limestone Courts apartment complex on North Limestone Street. When the violence ceased, Dawkins was found suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was rushed to the nearby Cherokee Medical Center, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
Javlin, a young man from Spartanburg, was reportedly standing in the apartment complex parking lot when the shooting occurred at approximately 10:50 p.m. The circumstances that led to the fatal encounter remain unclear, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the homicide. In the days that followed, the community mourned the loss of the young man. Funeral services for Javlin were held the following Saturday, April 5th, at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church, offering a space for family and friends to gather and remember a life ended too soon.
