Tammy Sue Cox, a 60-year-old female from Minersville, Pennsylvania, was found deceased in her home on February 13, 2025, following a welfare check conducted by local authorities. The investigation revealed that she had been fatally shot while she was sleeping. Her husband, Steven Gordon Cox, also 60 years old, was discovered dead at the scene as well.
Authorities believe that Steven Cox shot his wife at point-blank range before turning the gun on himself in what has been classified as a murder-suicide. The estimated time of death was between February 11 and February 12, 2025.
Police were initially dispatched to the residence on Arlene Street after concerns arose when one of the occupants failed to report to work for several days. Upon arrival, officers forced entry into the home and discovered the bodies of Tammy Sue Cox and Steven Gordon Cox. The Schuylkill County Coroner’s Office transported both individuals for further examination, including a virtual autopsy and toxicology testing.
