In the winter of 2021, a young mother's life was tragically cut short on a street in Pittsburgh's Lawrenceville neighborhood. On the evening of February 8th, police responded to a report of a car that had struck a utility pole. Inside the vehicle, they discovered 22-year-old Katara Lashai Bray, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Medics pronounced her dead at the scene. At the time of her death, Katara, a mother of four, had just learned she was pregnant with her fifth child.
