On the night of September 7, 2023, 25-year-old Danasia Lighty was fatally shot while seated in her vehicle in Pittsburgh's Brighton Heights neighborhood. Authorities responded to a ShotSpotter alert indicating multiple gunshots near Fleming and Falck avenues around 11 p.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Lighty in the driver's seat with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Allegheny General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly after.
