On a Saturday afternoon in Philadelphia, what began as a dispute between teenagers on a SEPTA bus tragically ended in the death of 15-year-old Zahkir Whitfield. A Black male and a resident of Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, he was a sophomore at Upper Darby High School where he was known to be a talented basketball player. His grandfather, who had raised him since infancy, described him as an energetic teen who loved the outdoors.
