On November 7, 2022, Semaj Cherry, a 21-year-old man from Philadelphia, PA, was tragically killed in a shooting incident aboard a SEPTA Broad Street Line subway train. The incident occurred around 2:40 p.m. near the Fairmount Avenue station in North Philadelphia. According to police reports, Cherry was shot multiple times during what authorities believe was a botched robbery attempt.
