On September 12, 2022, Daniel Ruley, a 37-year-old Black male and father of seven, was tragically gunned down outside his home in Germantown, Philadelphia. Ruley, who had been a dedicated SEPTA Regional Rail conductor for 13 years, was ambushed and executed by an unknown shooter who exited a dark-colored vehicle and fired over a dozen rounds at him. According to police, Ruley was completely innocent and the shooting was likely a case of mistaken identity.
