In the Fairhill section of Philadelphia, on a Tuesday evening in late autumn, the life of Juan Cruz was brought to a violent and tragic end. On December 13, 2016, the 49-year-old Hispanic male was on the 3000 block of North Orkney Street when he was targeted in a fatal shooting. Officers responding to reports of gunfire found Cruz suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but the severity of his injuries proved to be insurmountable, and he was pronounced dead.
