In a brazen daytime shooting in West Philadelphia, 88-year-old Richard Butler, a male Air Force veteran and retired SEPTA bus driver, was shot and killed while sitting in his car on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. The incident occurred around 1:35 p.m. in the 100 block of North Dewey Street. Butler, a beloved grandfather and a well-known figure in his community, had just dropped off a friend when the fatal attack took place.
