On the afternoon of March 19, 2025, William M. Davis, a 28-year-old African American man, was fatally shot at a residence on Mary Alexander Road in Charlotte, North Carolina, near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte campus. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 2 p.m.
