On April 26, 2025, police responded to reports of gunfire on the 2000 block of Logan Street. There they found Zaire suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical aid was administered at the scene before he was rushed to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
Zaire Keyshaun Warren, known affectionately as 'Cheese' to his friends, was born on November 24, 2005, in Harrisburg. He was a student in the Harrisburg Public School District and was on track to graduate from Harrisburg High School's John Harris Campus in 2025. He had a passion for basketball, video games, and working out, but most of all, he cherished spending time with his family.
The investigation into the shooting continued for several months. Then, on August 11, 2025, the Harrisburg Bureau of Police, in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service, announced a significant development in the case. They had taken a suspect into custody. Aaron S. Williams, a 19-year-old from Harrisburg, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with Zaire Warren's death.
Following his arrest, Williams was transported to Dauphin County Central Booking to await his arraignment. While an arrest has been made, law enforcement has stated that the investigation into the shooting remains active.
