Nicholas Caples, 18, a white male, was shot during a family dispute inside his family’s home in the Centennial Hills area of northwest Las Vegas on the afternoon of Friday, March 17, 2017. Officers were called to the 10200 block of Yarmouth Sea Court near Farm Road and North Hualapai Way around 3 p.m.; Caples was taken to UMC Trauma, where he died of a gunshot wound to the chest. The Clark County coroner publicly identified him several days later.
