In the late afternoon of Sunday, February 23, 2025, the quiet of a neighborhood in Independence, Missouri, was shattered by a reported shooting. When officers from the Independence Police Department arrived at the home in the 9700 block of East Winner Road, they were met with a tense and uncertain situation.
