On January 5, 2025, at approximately 12:25 a.m., a shooting occurred outside a bar located in the 500 block of Ames Boulevard in Marrero, Louisiana. Two unidentified gunmen opened fire, aiming at an unknown individual. However, the gunfire struck two bystanders instead: Curtis Lawrence, a 36-year-old African American male from New Orleans, and a woman whose identity has not been disclosed. The woman sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while Curtis Lawrence was critically wounded.
