On the afternoon of April 23, 2025, 17-year-old Charles Renard Sanders III was fatally shot in the front yard of a residence in Kansas City’s Northland neighborhood, near NE 75th Court and North Chas Drive. Emergency responders arrived shortly after 2:15 p.m. and transported Charles to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
