In the spring of 2014, the life of 32-year-old Calvert L. Antwine, a Black male, came to a violent and abrupt end on the streets of Kansas City, Missouri. On the afternoon of March 20th, a chaotic scene unfolded near 13th Street and Virginia Avenue, culminating in a single-vehicle crash. First responders arrived to find an SUV overturned, but the cause of the incident was far more sinister than a mere traffic accident. Inside the wrecked vehicle was Antwine, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
