Todd Stoops, a 23-year-old white male, died on June 17, 1986, as a result of severe injuries inflicted by Robert Berdella, a notorious serial killer known as the "Kansas City Butcher." Berdella, who was responsible for the deaths of at least six young men between 1984 and 1987, subjected his victims to prolonged periods of captivity, during which he tortured and sexually assaulted them.
