On July 20, 2025, the life of Taylor D. Garrett, a 32-year-old Black male from Kansas City, Missouri, came to a violent end during a Sunday afternoon disturbance at a local convenience store. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. at a gas station located near the intersection of Truman Road and Brooklyn Avenue.
